What is the Missio Lux Story?

It began as a dream planted deep within me. It is taking shape as a community of people committed to knowing God, to loving people and to serving the world. As we live into all three areas as Jesus' followers, we experience God's heart beating in us; bringing us to a deep fulfillment in life and as a witness to the world as a different way to live.
God's heart beats in us as we are intentional to pursue God through a variety of ways: our spiritual pathways, exploration of Scripture, disciplined listening and response to God's voice, prayer, and connecting to the dreams that God has planted deep within all of us. Missio Lux is committed to tapping into those dreams and intentionally living them out as we serve the world.
We can be the church present to the world through loving our next door neighbor, being available to those who are suffering, becoming aware of and responding to the injustice that exists in much of the world today. Missio Lux understands that because we live in a global community, the whole world is our neighbor.
However, we recognize that we can't address every injustice or every poor or disenfranchised person; we must respond to those where God specifically calls us to be present. As we disperse into smaller missional communities, we can each discover our unique missio purpose. It is then that our focus, our finances, and our friendships are freed up to intentionally live into the call.
Loving people means that we "know" them and they "know" us. Missio Lux values relationships that are authentic and real and committed to "living life together." This means being present for the celebrations and the sufferings that we experience as people. It means that in our missional communities, we become the family of God to one another.
Missio Lux also recognizes that struggle is part of life. We will continue to struggle until the day of heaven, but as we walk together in our struggles, in authenticity and supporting one another, we begin to experience healing and recovery so that we live lives of health, wholeness and freedom. It is in our freedom that we can fully pursue the life that Jesus intends for us to live.
Missio Lux recognizes that our whole life is worship. We seek to live a life that embraces Jesus' priorities and live into a kingdom lifestyle. We will celebrate our daily walk with Jesus as worship in a big celebration service one time per month where the whole family of God comes together and tells their story of who God is and what he is doing amongst them.
Missio Lux is a new way to live out our faith. We believe that God will use this new way to reach many of his created people so they can also live into the life that Jesus intends for us; God's heart beating in us.
